So many slugs

I looked through my backyard under a flowering tree. Several of the blossoms have fallen. The slugs are eating the blossoms. Now, I'm not too worried about this, since they are far from my garden. (And the only thing growing in my garden that I eat is raspberries).

The snake from earlier this year would love to be eating those slugs, but it's probably too cool out there for the snake to be comfortable. I put the blossoms into the compost heap and perhaps the slugs will break down some of the other items into useful organic humus.

mrmoosie is awake, tired and playing Settlers with his daughter. I'm trying to remember the rule about "6 hours of sleep and 2 good meals, or 2 hours of sleep and 6 good meals".

Found it!!!!

I found the cafe that my sister used to go to when she worked at the Department of Justice. The Sun Spot Cafe at 440 1rst St., NW Washington DC. The closest Metro station is probably Judiciary Square and Archives is probably next, with Union Station giving it a run for the money.

Ukrainian Festival

We went to the Ukrainian Festival at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church (way up New Hampshire Ave. in Cloverly). The food was nice, the music was pretty nice and there were tons of children.

mrmoosie to check out the fencing. He was shy about it, but finally stepped up and went to five points with the guy who was directing it. Then that guy tried to talk him into a recreation battle on Oct. 3. That would be great, but it's about the 15th thing trying to get us to attend on Oct. 3 or Oct. 4 or both. So not this year. I actually wonder if two of the events (the Russian Festival and the recreation battle (which is specifically Eastern European)) are timed together so that you could attend both.

mrmoosie was actually happy that he had done it. And they both went full tilt, so he had that healthy flush from exercise.
