So many slugs

I looked through my backyard under a flowering tree. Several of the blossoms have fallen. The slugs are eating the blossoms. Now, I'm not too worried about this, since they are far from my garden. (And the only thing growing in my garden that I eat is raspberries).

The snake from earlier this year would love to be eating those slugs, but it's probably too cool out there for the snake to be comfortable. I put the blossoms into the compost heap and perhaps the slugs will break down some of the other items into useful organic humus.

mrmoosie is awake, tired and playing Settlers with his daughter. I'm trying to remember the rule about "6 hours of sleep and 2 good meals, or 2 hours of sleep and 6 good meals".

How does she do at Settlers? I'd've assumed it'd be too hard until about age 9 or so.

My kids have Kids Of Catan, which is so stripped-down that there's almost no opportunity to affect the outcome.

Emily can follow the rules, but sometimes she whines for us to change them. In general, we have a peace treaty with the robber and he only occupies unsettled lands. She also likes really long games, so we often go to 15 or 20 victory points instead of stopping at 10. (to go that far, you need to only have 2 players, but that is the default in our house). We started playing with resource cards face up, so she could learn some of the strategy. She will often request cards up.

She and I played it almost every waking hour for two weeks of quarantine this summer. So that gave her plenty of time to learn it.
