Kindergarten orientation

petmoosieAll paperwork was turned in. They handed us a bunch of pre-reading stuff. Apparently we are supposed to use that stuff to teach Emily to read before school starts. :-)
T and I really hit it off with another family who might be sending their daughter to Emily's school or to the school where Emily's girlfriend is going. The mom teaches at Montgomery College. We told her all the insulting names for Montgomery College and she laughed. She teaches Advanced English as a Second Language. Her pass rate is pretty low, because the students aren't prepared to go at the speed needed. She also taught SAT for a boutique test preparation company (whereas I teach in a chain store). She has a similar sense of humor (which is sometimes a black sense of humor)
I did not particularly hit it off with the room mother for my nephew's class. But I didn't blow it either. She will be important to know, since she has three children in the school and is a volunteering type. She's just not a black humor type.
