The technical difficulties were pretty severe, so they only *saw*, not *heard* the speech. I'm not sure that it was worth it for them.

Mine's not much better... I admit to deleting stuff from my phone and adding stuff to it while listening to the speech in the background (only had to back up a few minutes once... so obviously more of my attention was *really* on the speech, but...).

And with the multiple messages mostly (we hope) backing up what teachers, principals, and many parents should be making sure the students know... even if only *some* of those individual messages got across a bit more firmly, it was definitely not a bad thing.

I think I only caught one, *maybe* two, spots in the whole speech that could be seen as "political"... though those looking for "socialist" could probably pick out many bits... something about how most of them are those objecting to paying any taxes for education at all...

Hey, if nothing else, it might have caught a *few* more kids than were caught on trying to make it through before (and hey, if even one more does, it wasn't a complete waste of time IMHO)... and might have inspired a few more to aim higher... and it *did* get many more people talking about the importance of the presidency, whether or not elected officials should be given any respect, and how many different viewpoints the nation has. So something "interesting" and probably good managed to come out of it.

Can't say that about *every* speech :-)
