I am going through my list of a million things to do.

Including shopping for a kid's Bday present and returning something at Toys 'R Us. Now THOSE are errands that should be combined.!!! See it is important to think about your list before starting it.

Pros:
Fluency in another, highly used language.
With the children of BG (2 children), JE (4 children), and MP(3 children). More my friends than her friends and all older.
Other children from her preschool are going there (P, F?, and maybe others)
Only 2 (or 3) different classes at K level.

Cons (or Pros of local school):
Closeness of local school==walking distance
Neighbors go to local school (T in her age range, J and K older than her)
Relatives go there (T older, K younger)
Smaller class sizes
Instruction in native language.
No children from preschool are going to local school.
Closeness in the event of an emergency (Immersion school is closer to DC and therefore I would be swimming upstream if I was even allowed in the event of a 9-11 type emergency)

Emily freaked out at something shown on a TV. [profile] tharline and I had left her with a babysitter who didn't know her well, and they turned on the TV. After crying and perhaps screaming, she told the babysitter to turn it off. And things got better, and games were played and all was fine by the time we picked her up.

It turns out, it was Scooby-Doo. I think the movie. Many 4 and 5 year olds have seen that with no troubles.

Now, she watches the Sprout network every week, I know it shows Zoobumafoo and DragonTales and The Comfy Couch (or maybe it's The GoodNight Show). She seems to be fine with that. She watches The Little Mermaid a lot, and even Ursala doesn't seem to scare her. She won't watch Finding Nemo and wants to give the DVD away.

I think I might have to talk to the kindergarten teacher about this. She is unusually sensitive (to TV and screens) and eventually teachers do use filmstrips to teach specific ideas.  Maybe I will get "the form" again and I will write down that she has trouble with TV.

I have always been pretty careful with music, playing children's stuff or classical. I don't know if it extends to music/ things she hears also.
