Emily has very recently expressed an interest in how plants grow, particularly, how roots do their work. So we looked in the appropriate Dewey decimal section of the children's section. We found a colorful encyclopedia (Plants and Plant Life: 1. Roots, Shoots and Leaves). But, my goodness, this book is advanced. Emily loves it and she is understanding it on her level. She keeps digging up grasses to look at their roots. So, anyone know how to pronounce "dicotyledon" or "monocotyledon"?? I know that botanists often say "dicot" or "monocot" to avoid saying the last half of those words. Now, I know why.

Which Shakespeare play is this?
Jun. 14th, 2007 09:58 amAriel is itching to become ruler of the merfolk. So she instigates a battle between King Triton and the bad sharks, while she sits on the sidelines with the good sharks. Finally, King Triton is eaten by a shark. Ariel then intervenes and cuts King Triton out of the stomach of the bad shark. King Triton retires and hands over the crown and trident to Ariel.
Switch all the names to Richard, and the sharks to soldiers and I am sure that Shakespeare wrote it.
