Bleh

My leg no longer hurts like the dickens. I have to follow up with my primary care physician to get the Lyme disease screening. The doctor tried to imply that the reason it hurt was [livejournal.com profile] mrmoosie 's attempt to remove it, but it hurt long before that.

So many sick children at the Urgent Care place (Nighttime Pediatrics is the name, but they do adults also). I feel really sorry for those poor children.

The news from CDC about H1N1 is NOT good. 8% of all visits are for Influenza-like lllness or Pneumonia. 40% of people with symptoms have flu (which is really high, they usually see seasonal variation in this, but the yearly high is usually in the 20% range). The % of all deaths due to Flu or Pneumonia has exceeded the epidemic threshold.

I did not feel it appropriate to share the FluView diagrams with any of the parents there who were worried about their children. Even (or especially) the parents that I discussed MS Word and computer systems with in an effort to not be bored stiff.

I am out of energy and whenever I do anything requiring work, I start panting. I am extremely low on cardiovascular.

I hope I will feel better tomorrow.
petmoosie: (braids)
I really am. Hooray!!!

At this rate, I may be able to do all Wednesday's scheduled things on Friday.

I found a blog that I am enjoying called "Facts Are Strictly Optional".

I get distracted easily. Good thing I'm not managing a nuclear reactor.

I am also listening to news in another language. When will I learn that it just confuses me (more)?

Still sick

[livejournal.com profile] mrmoosie is taking over some of my regularly scheduled duties this morning. My killer headache has gone, though, so I do feel vaguely human.

Emily is staying home from school today. If, and only if, she can get a nap today, she might be able to go to her Girl Scouts thing tonight. Probably not, though.

I am feeling pretty miserable also. But, at least, I don't have a temperature. Neither does she.
petmoosie: (braids)
I'm a little sad in many ways.

Several people I know are mourning the loss of an SCA fighter to H1N1.

I yelled at my daughter today. Our disagreement just kept escalating.

[livejournal.com profile] mrmoosie 's plane doesn't get in until 12:30 tonight. He'll be exhausted.

My studying time was spent on tasks for my PTA committee. I won't get that back.

I was afraid that I had overstepped the levels of privacy appropriate for a blog in my comments on another person's blog.

I got a rejection from the job I applied to. I know it was a long shot, but it's still a rejection.

Our oven is still broken. It's just a low-level background annoyance.

I used my lightbox for 20 minutes this morning. OK, maybe I lost track of time and it was an hour. I am totally revved up. I have a ton of things to do for my PTA committee and some of the information I need is in Yahoo! mail. Mail is acting slow, plus I have a ton of messages that I *could* respond to (mostly having to do with that same committee).

My brain keeps firing up things for me to do. I have a category in my "things" (a todo list) called public health. It seems to include advising people to get the flu vaccine, figure out whether someone should get the nasal vaccine or the shot, and telling people that flu parties are one of the dumbest ideas out there. It also includes donating blood, but that requires sitting still.

Unfortunately for me, I can't listen to podcasts (especially not Spanish) very well in this hyper state. Or study.

Not too motivated. My tummy hurts.

Must overcome it any way.

Off to the school yet again.

Although she's not moaning and groaning and she's not even demanding attention.

She's just mildly sick.

More work.

I've got more work. I am mostly happy about this, but there is a lot of preparation work suddenly on my plate.

I've got tons of papers that have to get to their proper owners all signed, sealed and delivered. My work, Emily's school, my school (Spanish class)...

My daughter has EXTREMELY good hearing. I whispered something to [livejournal.com profile] mrmoosie half a room away. She knew all about it. Fortunately, computer passwords (except her own) baffle her. I often joke that she has hearing in the 99 percentile.

I'm tired.

And I have a sick sense of humor.

I believe that I'm making no progress on any other goal than keeping my daughter alive.

This , this and this. All about the use and safety of melatonin for sleep disorders. T has decided that the situation is desperate.

H1N1 flu

Link. And, yes, I think my illness comes with a little swine-y tail associated with it.

Still sick

This is almost certain to last 7 days.

I hope that no one else gets it.

Bleh.
petmoosie: (dc)
First of all, I am going to work. I'm trying to increase my hours/earnings this year. I have two classes and a tutoring student.

Emily has one camp in July. It's actually 9am-5pm, which is really long for a camp or for a 1rst grade child.

There is a Bible camp in August. I have been doing a lot of preparation for this, with the certification for a volunteer to work with children.

We are going to the beach in July. i will be there for three days and T and Emily have the whole week.

We need to start going to the pool. As soon as both Emily and I are non-contagious. Also, going to a few museums and having a few playdates. i don't feel right about calling yet, since I'm not well yet.

Mosquitoes

The worst thing about being subclinically feverish is that the mosquitoes are programmed to find you.

I'M sick.

I've got weak muscles, a sore throat, earaches, and a headache. I took Tylenol for it, but no progress noticeable.

Emily is well, T is tired but healthy.

I am tutoring this afternoon. It will be a short session, but we've got to get this tutorial started.

My garden is getting some sun today. There are raspberries, but they aren't red enough to pick yet.
petmoosie: (Emily)
We're going to a museum, I hope.

All that is bothering Emily is her cough. So we'll still steer clear of people that we know.
petmoosie: (braids)
I have been making dishes with kale and spinach to increase my vitamin K amount.

A salad with spinach, mango and avocado. Stuffed red peppers with kale, rice and red pepper bits.
petmoosie: (Emily)
She's going to miss the last days of kindergarten. T will have to drop off her present to her teacher.

She now has respiratory involvement (a cough). So she meets the definition of possible H1N1 and should be avoiding people for 7 days (since Saturday).
