We'll see how long it lasts. The book has very figurative language and that isn't the best for Emily at this stage. But she is amused by the character of Toad and the necklace that came with the book.

But I need a picture.  By the way, what is a weir? 1) a fence or enclosure set in a waterway for taking fish 2) a dam in a stream to raise the water level or divert its flow. I need to find a picture. Emily is very good about asking about words she doesn't know.

Good mood

Making steady progress in my biology stuff. Due date is still too soon (Apr 12th). I have 65 pages of notes for 3.5 lectures.

I got out and to the library and picked up caffeine for us. Between us, we have read a whole book from the library to Emily already.

I sent out my paysheet, detailing my hours for the last two weeks. And I filled out the employment survey for my professional society. That should be funny when it arrives.

My knitting is going OK. Probably too well, considering the due date of Apr 12th for all the biology stuff. ;-)

I have been reading too many articles about homeschooling and homeschooling blogs.

Things are good. The odor (of paint) has abated.

The book fairy (my SIL's idea) has come by while we were out and delivered a new Fairy Realm book. These are very popular in my house along with the Disney Fairy books.

We bought some very stinky manure for the garden. It is sitting outside waiting to be snowed on. The odor is just outstanding and a very good contrast with the paint fumes. I hope that the odor is out of T's car by the time he has to go to work.

Last night we got to the part in "The Hobbit" where Thorin dies. Emily didn't get it for a while, but when the body was being prepared for burial and the elf-king (?) put Orchrist by Thorin, she got it. She asked a few questions to be certain. And the water works started. I didn't know that Thorin was such an attractive character. Then she resolved it with "a miracle and Thorin wakes up and most of his owies are OK, but the one on his arm is bleeding a little bit". So I was Thorin and she was Bilbo and Tim was Gandalf.

Emily is using this insult (that Thorin threw at Bilbo) liberally, especially with her toy animals.

Emily has suggested that events in "The Hobbit" would have gone so much more smoothly if Beorn had given Bilbo and Thorin walkie-talkies.

Just let that settle in your brain for a bit.

I am all caught up with Princeton Review. Every single student has been emailed.

Emily is happy and cheery and snacking on tomatoes while waiting for dinner to be ready. Dinner will be ready when Tim finishes chopping lettuce. (We're having fajitas).

Spanish is going well and lots of fun. One of my buddies has come back to our class. Man, she can talk fast.

I went shopping today at Borders. Oh, I love buying books!!!!
