We checked out this restaurant in Silver Spring. We went with the early hour of 5pm. So we were one of two groups in the restaurant.
We had 2 appetizers, Mozambique Shrimp and Cod Fritters. I liked them both.
I had Jmoor's Deadlights with steak and veggies and scimitar fries. T had Jamaican Jerk Pork with veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. E had shell pasta with steamed carrots. My meal was good. The fries had rock salt on them. T's meal was good, mild on the jerk sauce.
For dessert, we had Cinnamon Apples, Chocolate Mouse (spelled that way on the dessert menu), and Rum Cake. Emily and T liked the rum cake and I loved the mousse.
Emily flirted with one of the pirates who were waitstaff. We were sitting right by the wait station and computer, so he was coming around fairly often, even though he wasn't our waiter.
Emily got an eyepatch, a gold coin, and a gold ring with a skull on it. She was enchanted by all the decor. The music was also pirate-inspired. The waitstaff tried for an accent and the effect was definitely like the Renn Faire.
There are two rooms, and I wonder if they always seat children in the front room.
