It turns out that ambulance rides are not part of the emergency visit. So, we have to pay the full $730 ambulance ride, even though the person on the other end of the insurance line insisted that we call an ambulance rather than have me drive him in.
So far out of pocket expenses include: kids vacines ($200), lab tests ($645), broken tooth & bridge replacement ($1400), ER visit ($100) and now ambulance ride ($730). Worst part, we would have gotten to the hospital faster, if I drove.
