The caterpillars never came out in force this year.

There were a few caterpillars on a few days. (One of which Emily named Violet). But never climbing up on top of each other, or racing along our windowsill. Since they were out around the 3-5th of May last year (checking in my LiveJournal), I think that they won't be showing up this late.

I wonder if it was all the rain that did them in this year.

Swimming pool

We'll be spending a fair amount of time there this summer. However, both of the first days we went, the pool spent some time closed with thunder. Today, lightening was seen and we cleared the deck.
