Maevis Bacon teaches typing

I finally showed Emily home position on the keyboard last night. Her fingers are *still* a little small for the reach into the numbers and especially the reach for the delete key.

Now to find a typing program for her.

Mavis Beacon _still_ teaches typing? I remember that from when I was in high school.

Mavis Beacon taught me to type on an Apple IIe... uphill, in the snow both ways.

But she does, indeed, still teach typing.

Playing catch-up a bit ... again...

But my kids' favorite is Jumpstart Typing. It's a lot more fun for the younger ones than Mavis (which is what I used and liked when I needed to up my speed years ago).

I'm also a major Jumpstart fan right now, besides liking all but one of their products we've bought in the past, a couple years ago we bought a Jumpstart Typing game. Used it a few times on the old computer before that computer died. Got it out to try out on a different computer - same operating system. Didn't work. At all... tried it on the Vista computer as well... didn't work worse. E-mailed Jumpstart, and not only did the person there attempt to figure out why it didn't work, but it got pushed up a level or two and eventually I got a completely *new* copy - a version newer than the one we'd bought, in the mail, in under a week - no charge for the new disk or for shipping - and they'd offered it, I never asked.

Thank you for the recommendation. I have just let it sit since this post, but getting on it is a good idea.
