Comparison

We just watched "The Electric Company" the new one on PBS. Then I dug out my DVDs of the old one and we're watching the very first episode from 1971.

Hmmm.

I'm not sure why they decided to call the new ones "The Electric Comapny". It doesn't resemble the old show at all.

It does the part where two shadows (silhouettes) complete words by sounding them out. That is in both of them.

I like the new one and the old one. And I am totally ready for Emily to read more.

That doesn't seem to be in the first season of the old one.

On the other hand, the plumber talking to the parrot is in the very first one. "It's the plumber. I've come to fix the sink."

"It's the plumber. I've come to fix the sink."

Ah, the classics. :-)

More details. That first appeared in episode #19 and became part of the opening sequence in season #2.

I'm not a big fan of the new one. I liked the variety show format better than the super powers. And the DVDs scrubbed Spiderman. Boo!

But the good news is that Pari can read "The witch is in the kitchen" before the witch can. ;-)
