I am trying to melt the snow

And, for some reason, I am not using a hairdryer plugged into an outside socket.

I shoveled the mounds into thinner layers over the few places where the snow has melted. I dumped a little snow onto my driveway, where it actually melted pretty fast.

The outside air temperature is about 43°F. There is rain predicted for later today and snow for tomorrow. I'm not sure I can take any more.

Have you tried sprinkling the snow with powdered sodium?

No, no, I haven't. I don't actually want extra sodium in my soil at the end of this process. And, while that reaction is wonderfully exothermic, I regard it as a bit unsafe. :-)

Well, you know, you do it slowly. And trick somebody else into doing it. Somebody you don't like. Who has good liability insurance.
