It's a major, major break. The entire southern half of the county is affected, but most people are only experiencing mild loss of water pressure. There is no problem with water quality at all. So we can notice it, but it doesn't harm us.
Emily was dismissed from class early due to it. The schools heating system relies on water (I guess steam radiators??), so they couldn't promise heat in the entire building. I picked her up in the office. My neighbor was there making phone calls to Spanish-speaking parents (who might not have gotten the word).
Our local hospital is affected but not stopped. Basically no showers on the top floors.
