Recruiters are more active

After talking with T about this and that (mostly that), I found out that a recruiter called HIM to see if he still had positions open. He wasn't even the hiring manager involved.

From what I can see from here, this is merely an indication that the rats get more active as the ship starts to sink. They want to be kept on, so they try to sell even the lowest probabilities. Plus, they know that "mindshare" matters, so the more people they can check in with, the better. It's like the realtors a year ago. Soon the least-connected recruiters won't be making any money and will drop out.

Not *all* parts of the economy should be tanking at the same time, but it's definitely a time for caution.

Lots of people say that they don't want to be called at work. I'm not sure how many don't want to be called at home.

Well, no, I haven't. I should probably take that résumé down soon, actually; we're very close to getting funding (we've got verbal promises from N investors, and the final paperwork is being drawn up).
