Driving while distracted

"Hands-free" doesn't help. It's the amount to which the conversation engages the mind.

I am supposed to call if I am going to be late, with an estimate of how late I will be. I am supposed to call all the students as well as the office. I can't imagine pulling over to call if there is a traffic jam. Plus, pulling over is somewhat dangerous to begin with. Fortunately, I have never been late while driving (once while on the Metro). But with pulling over and calling all those people, I would be adding at least 15 minutes to the amount that I am late. I guess that this policy only works if you are going to be at least a certain amount late.

Yes, I have called and wound up on time once. That was with the Metro also.
